Google chrome app for beginners

Creating your own Google Chrome App in minutes- for beginners

Hi friends,
I know i havent done anything in my blog for ages. I ll try to post lot:-).

Here is a small tutorial to make your own google chrome dashboard link so that any one can create their own dashboard item for your most visited websites or your own blogs. For those who dont know what is a dashboard, it's the home page screen which shows up when you start google chrome or when when you open a new tab. Here is a screenshot of how it looks

These apps are downloaded from the chrome store and im gonna show you how you can add your own icon which opens up your own links. For some of those who see a 'Most visited' page in chrome, move your mouse over to the right edge and click so you will get your app page.

Step 1:

Create a folder in your local drive of any name you wish. Now lets say the folder name is 'First app'.

Step 2:

Find a suitable icon for your app from online or create your won icons using Adobe Photoshop. The icon should be of size 128 by 128 pixels. Now paste that icon into the folder 'First app'. Rename it to "icon.png"

Step 3:

Now create a text document inside the folder 'First app' and paste the following code in the document.

Once you pasted the code above, now we have to customize this code according to your need.

Step 4:

First you have to specify a name for your app. Replace the NAME OF YOUR APP HERE tag in the second line of the code using a name u wish for your app. Make sure you give your name inside double quotes.

Second you have to give the URL of the location what your app has to open, say we want our app to open this blog "http://evthink.blogspot.in/" then just replace "http://PUT-THE-URL-OF-YOUR-WEBSITE-HERE" with  "http://evthink.blogspot.in/". Make sure you replace at both the places.

Now save your file with the name manifest.json.

Now that we have both our icon and the manifest file, we are ready to bundle up our icon.

Step 5:

Open your chrome browser and click on the little wrench icon which looks like this

Then click Tools->Extensions. In the Extensions click 'Developer Mode'

Now click the 'Load unpacked extension...' button. When it prompts you to select the folder of your app, point it to the 'Firstapp' folder which we created in the local drive.

Thats it, chrome will bundle it for you and place it in your app dashboard with your icon and app name. Now you can click that icon to go to your favourite page.

Sony Vaio VPCB15FN

Hi...
Got my brand new Sony VAIO C series laptop. After a long hunt for a good all purpose laptop for my use i sorted out this one.Actually its a breeze to use.So here are my experience on exploring the laptop.Hope u would appreciate it.

Design:
Design-VAIO,VAIO-Design sorry i couldn't differentiate both.Such an awesome design the laptop has. There were three colurs available,Black, neon Green and Orange.I opted for Orange coz green was very bright and black, everyone has it so i chose Orange.Though it may be very awkward to think how an orange colored laptop would be, probably u wouldn't have seen an orange VAIO.Its really really sexy. The finishing is awesome and the icing on the cake is the Ambient light glo technology which is that during daylight, the body absorbd the light from out and glows itself!!!!! Yes!!!!! the laptop itself glows on its edges and the VAIO logo       on the Lid.There are three USB 2.0 ports two on the left side and one on the left. One USB 3.0 port on the right side(I was praying there shouldn't be any ports on the back and there is no ports on the back:-D).There is a HDMI port on the right and a VGA port next to it.Then there is the heat exhaust vent and next to it are the ethernet port and the charger port. There is one headphone jack and a mic port on the left,a DVD Dual layer Combo drive.A set of speakers on either side above the keyboard to give the stereo effect,a glowing touchpad which is a little bit hard to use as it blends with the body so we never know that we are scrubbing outside the bounds. The Keyboard is simply superb with its Backlights and it has a number pad too.The card reader is in the front and next to it are the power, battery and process indicators and a toggling switch for Wireless connectivity. And above the keyboard are the capslock, numlock and scroll lock indicators and the 'Assist','Web','VAIO' and 'Power' buttons.A HD camera in its usual place.Totally the design is awestruck making everyone to turn their glances on your laptop atleast once and forgot to mention lots of stickers on it but it's cool.

Features and Performance:
It has an Intel i5 2430M processor running at 2.40 GHz speed which is a bit more compared to its rivals.A 4GB DDR3 RAM which doesn't let my system slow down on load.A 500GB HD with 7900 RPM which is also higher than other laptops of same price.A 1GB radeon 6630M graphic card and an Intel 1GB HD onboard graphics. One of the main features is that the graphics is switchable ie., the system assigns the intel graphics for lesser processes and the radeon for high end processes itself and it is also manually assignable. So far there was no lagging in the performance of the system since im using only low end processes(yet to play assasins creed revelations in it).Typing in keyboard is again awesome, obviously in which im typing now.The screen is 15" HD with a resolution of 1920x1080 and the screen is also back lit so the high definition videos are really High Definition. The HD camera is also very feature rich with the inbuilt software which facilitates many frame and mask mode captures. The very good advantage is that it has the face detection technology so it automatically assigns the mustaches and beards in correct places.Another special features of the camera is it detects ur posture for camera and also blink detection. The note worthy feature of it is the gesture recognition. So now it's very easy to switch to next song or previous song or play/pause by just a wave of your hand. The speakers are not so brilliant because the sound quality is very cheaper compared to the sony mobiles.Anyways i always prefer only earphones.
The Assist key is very useful so u will never need to insert your Windows 7 DVD to reinstall ur OS incase any serious problems. It's just enough to click the assist button when the system is Off and the prebuilt windows recovery disk runs provides options for you to recover your OS and files. The Web key another handy button. You can click the button when the system is Off and it opens you up a preinstalled browser within 10 seconds or less so you can just browse your favourite websites or check facebook without turning your System On.

Verdict:
So,here it goes, the laptop is fully packed with rich features and performance is also great except for its speakers.Otherwise it's great laptop to go for though its a little bit costly for the specs but the design and special features definitely makes it a good choice.

Im not sure whether i have covered all the details of the laptop as this is my first review on Internet.I ll be coming with lots of reviews soon so stay tuned.
